Based on an initial spelling assessment, students have been placed in 1 of 3 groups (I may change group placement as we go along): blue group, purple group or yellow group.
Students will have a list of spelling words every 2nd week. (We will be doing grammar on the alternating weeks.) Word lists and an assignment will be given on the first day of the week (usually Monday). Students may pick 3 of the 4 pages in the assignment to complete (if they want to do all 4, they’re welcome to). The assignment is due on the last day of week (usually Friday though this week it’s Thursday). The spelling test is also on the last day of the week.
The list of words is different. The assignment for all 3 groups is the same.
I will post the word lists each week, as well as the 4-page assignment for that week (the assignment will vary). Here’s this week’s lists with the assignment available for download below, if helpful (in case of absence or if it gets lost). Students will be given some class time to work on these words but they may choose to complete the work and practice the words at home. Parents, feel free to give your child a quiz at home on the words at some point during the week to help them see which ones they still need to learn before the test.
